Why Does This Tesla Look So Different Now?

The new Tesla Model S Plaid is here, and we're taking a close look at the changes. A key improvement is the refreshed interior, featuring black-accented seats and Alcantara details. But what really stands out is the ambient lighting: not only is it in the front, but it's now a complete experience extending into the back. This is a huge win for passenger comfort, especially compared to rivals like the BMW 5 series, which often neglects rear-seat ambient lighting.

Beyond the interior, the refresh introduces new aesthetic changes, though some might find them less than ideal. The wheels and bumper, with their glossy black "pseudo carbon" finish and a new lip, have a distinct look. While this differentiates it from the regular Model S, some enthusiasts (like us) still feel the Plaid deserves more.

For a car with this level of performance, we believe the Plaid should come standard with a wide-body kit and genuine carbon fiber components. But for now, this refresh at least ensures it stands out from its lesser-powered sibling. This is a subtle but important update that shows Tesla's commitment to refining its flagship model.
