...Source: https://electrek.co/2025/05/02/tesla-sales-have-collapsed-sweden/ Transcript: According to Electrek, Tesla’s sales in Sweden have dropped off a cliff. In April, Tesla delivered just 203 vehicles in the country — an 80% drop compared to the same month last year. For context, in 2024, Tesla was averaging over 1,800 deliveries every month in Sweden, but so far in 2025, that monthly average has plunged to just 533, marking a 71% year-over-year decline.
The sharp fall comes despite new inventory, including the updated Model Y All-Wheel Drive, being readily available. Tesla is also still holding unsold inventory of the old Model Y, which stopped production more than two months ago. The upcoming Model Y Rear-Wheel Drive, scheduled for delivery next month, might help a little — but rear-wheel drive models typically aren’t popular in a country with harsh winters like Sweden.
This sales slump appears linked to a broader buyer boycott tied to CEO Elon Musk’s political affiliations, following earlier union-related tensions last year. If things don’t improve by the third quarter, the outlook for Tesla in Europe could shift from rocky to unsustainable.
