Since the Model 3 was launched, Tesla has quietly been making improvements to the windscreen wiper washers. The current 'Highland' model introduced in 2024 has many documented improvements over the earlier versions, but the washers don't get talked about much, so we decided to make this short video to show you the differences between a 2019 UK Model 3 and a 2025 one.
The good news is, you can retrofit these new wiper/washers to your older Model 3 very easily and it doesn't cost a fortune to do it.
For the UK cars, the part numbers for the new wiper arms are:
1740300-00-B & 1740301-00-B
They cost £20.67 + VAT for each arm (no blade included).
For U.S. cars, the part numbers are:
1878488-00-A & 1878490-00-A
Prices may vary
For other countries, consult your local Tesla parts catalogue: https://epc.tesla.com/
One of the hoses is shorter, so you'll need to cut a piece off the old one and get a small hose joiner.
You should be able to order the arms from a Tesla Service Centre but you may need the VIN from a Highland Model 3 to do so. They are often parked outside the SCs.
You'll also need a wiper removal tool, or you'll risk damaging the wiper module.
Use this type of tool as it fits the Model 3 arms (some don't): https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B0D83MK3RR?psc=1&ref=ppx_pop_dt_b_product_details
Tell us in the comments how you get on if you decide to do the retrofit.
