It’s time for another Carwow EV range test!
We’ve got our hands on three of the most powerful EVs that were available at the time of filming - the Tesla Model S Plaid, Lotus Emeya R, and the Audi RS e-tron GT Performance! The question is, which will go further?
Well, we’re going to put the three to the test as we travel up the M1 motorway. Given these are the performance versions of each car, we’ll be driving them in sports mode, although we may switch to range/eco modes once each car is almost depleted of battery life.
So, how do they compare? Starting with the Tesla, it’s powered by a 97 kWh battery and three electric motors. These create 1,020 hp, and the car has a claimed range of 364 miles. As new, it costs around £110,000.
The Lotus Emeya R has dual motors, and these can produce 918hp. It has a 99kWh battery which is good for a claimed range of 301 miles, and as new it cost £131,000.
Finally we have the Audi. It also has two motors, as well as a 97kWh battery pack. The motors help it produce 925hp, and it has a claimed range of 373 miles. It’s the most expensive car in this line-up, starting at £142,000.
So which will travel the further - the Audi has the largest claimed range, but could it be beat by the Tesla or Lotus? You’ll have to stick with Mat and the team to see for yourself!
