General Motors has overtaken Tesla to become Canada's top electric vehicle (EV) seller in Q1 2025. GM's EV sales surged by 252%, totaling 5,750 units, driven by models like the Chevrolet Equinox EV, Blazer EV, and Cadillac Optiq. In contrast, Tesla's registrations in Quebec plummeted by 90%, partly due to the suspension of federal and provincial EV incentives and shifting consumer preferences. GM's diverse EV lineup and broader market appeal have contributed to its rising dominance in the Canadian EV market.
