...Source: https://www.teslarati.com/ex-tesla-supply-chain-ai-inventory/ Transcript: According to Teslarati, two former Tesla supply chain leaders have launched an AI startup called Atomic, aiming to fix the same inventory headaches they once faced at Tesla. Neal Suidan and Michael Rossiter, who helped manage Tesla’s global supply chain during the tough Model 3 production ramp-up in 2018, say the new platform helps companies better predict demand and manage inventory—without drowning in spreadsheets.
Atomic’s software simulates supply chain scenarios in real-time and has already helped early users slash inventory costs by up to 50 percent. The company just raised $3 million in seed funding from Madrona and DVx Ventures, the investment firm run by former Tesla president Jon McNeill—who oversaw Suidan and Rossiter during the Tesla days.
McNeill recalled the crisis period when Tesla had less than a month of cash on hand and was desperate to get Model 3 production from 20,000 to 100,000 cars per quarter. The planning system developed by Suidan and Rossiter at the time reduced inventory from 75 days to just 15, freeing up billions in working capital—now that core planning framework is being offered to other companies through Atomic.
